Mural Project with Paint Memphis

Paint Memphis is a one-day paint festival that has been the largest collaborative mural in Tennessee. The festival is a place where artists can show off their talents and connect with a community of local and regional painters as well as over volunteers, food and drink trucks, and live music to make this event fun for art lovers of all ages.

Paint Memphis held its 2022 one-day paint festival at the Broad Avenue Arts District – Hollywood, Broad, and Scott Streets on October 8 from noon until 6:00 pm. Over 150 artists created the largest collaborative mural in Tennessee! The daylong festival featured food trucks, vendors, workshops, demonstrations, dancers, skateboarding, and live music. The theme for 2022 was A New Face for an Old Broad.

As part of my gold award project, I helped prep the mural areas with a team of volunteers and then painted a mural based on the Gender Pay Gap at one of the mural locations on Broad Street. The design was created in a series of research and artmaking workshops I led with high school girls.
